Alcohol and drug rehab is just one option that is available to people in Bothell, WA who are battling addictions. But so many do not know that there are alternatives that can help them. The result is that they inadvertently resign themselves to a lifetime of substance abuse. Some will try to quit and relapse, which only contributes to the cycle of addiction. We want people to know that there is hope, and that there are many recovery resources that can help them.
12-Step programs are readily available in Washington State. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous have been able to help millions of people recover from their addictions. Their meetings and memberships are free of charge, and the only requirement is to have a desire to stop using.
Families frequently struggle when a loved one is addicted to drugs or alcohol. They often try to get them to quit, but nothing they do or say seems to make a difference. These situations are so painful for families, and they feel like they have nowhere to turn for help. Al-Anon and Alateen are two great resources that can make a difference for them.
We are not affiliated with these programs, but we do believe in them. So many lives have been changed because of them, which is why we want to inform Bothell residents about them. Detox and rehab may not always be the right answer, but there are many other addiction recovery resources in the Bothell area that could be.
It is important to know that you are not alone in your struggle with addiction. There is help available to you in Bothell, Washington. Keep reading to learn more about your options for addiction and alcoholism recovery and treatment in Bothell, including:
People with drug and alcohol addictions will experience many benefits from detoxing. There are many methods of treatment used during the detoxification process, but they all have the same goal. Their goal is to rid the body of toxins associated with substances.
Drug and alcohol detox offers people a way to get through their withdrawal symptoms, and possibly even minimize their severity. It can help people avoid many of the complications that can occur when a person is in recovery.
There are currently no facilities that offer either drug detox or alcohol detox services in Bothell. But the SAMHSA treatment locator does indicate that there are options that are close by.
There are three detox programs located within 5 miles of the city. Two of them are inpatient, and one offers outpatient services. Most experts believe that inpatient detox is much safer due to the risk of emergencies and complications.
There is only one hospital that is close to Bothell that offers detox services. Even so, this might not be the best option for people with addictions. They may miss out on socialization opportunities with other patients, and may not receive the appropriate referrals for further treatment.
Going to drug rehab is a very important part of the recovery process. This form of treatment allows people to work with some of the best professionals in the industry. They will receive many different types of therapy to help them recover.
There are two drug rehabs that are located in Bothell, and several others within a 5-mile radius of the city, for a total of nine. Both of the programs in the city offer outpatient services. Inpatient treatment is available as well, but patients will need to travel a short distance from home.
For alcoholics, nothing is as important as going to alcohol treatment if they plan to get and stay sober. So many people with drinking problems believe that they can just stop, and that is not effective at all. Without getting professional help, many will only relapse, which is what needs to be avoided.
There are only two alcohol rehab facilities in Bothell, and they are both outpatient programs. There are seven additional programs in the surrounding cities, and some of them offer inpatient services.
Inpatient treatment is most successful for many people recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. Sometimes, some time away and the constant attention of trained medical professionals is just what it takes to kick the addiction habit.
There are several options for inpatient treatment services in Bothell, and many reasons that inpatient treatment may or may not be right for you.
Benefits of inpatient treatment include:
The potential downsides to inpatient treatment include:
Inpatient treatment has the highest success rates of any recovery method. However, It’s important that each patient finds the recovery method that best serves them, which may be inpatient or outpatient.
Outpatient treatment is another good option for those trying to break their addiction. An intensive program with frequent check-ins that allow the patient to continue to live in their own home and stay surrounded by their own support system is often ideal.
There are many outpatient programs near Bothell, so you have plenty of opportunities to find the one that’s right for your recovery process.
If you aren’t sure whether outpatient treatment is right for you, consider the pros and cons of outpatient treatment in Bothell.
The benefits of outpatient treatment include:
The potential downsides to outpatient treatment include:
Not everyone needs an intensive treatment option for their addiction. Accountability, though, is best for everyone recovering from drug or alcohol abuse. Alcoholics Anonymous groups, Narcotics Anonymous groups, community centers, and church groups can all be beneficial to those recovering from addiction.
Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA, is a longstanding organization that has had great success in aiding former alcoholics in their recovery process.

If you suspect that you or a loved one has overdosed on drugs or has alcohol poisoning, it’s best to get professional medical help as quickly as possible. In case of an emergency, call 911.
Washington state has a Good Samaritan Law, so you cannot be prosecuted for drug use, possession, or underage drinking if you call 911 to seek emergency medical help for yourself or someone else experiencing an overdose. Never let fear of the law keep you from seeking professional help for a drug overdose or alcohol poisoning.
The death toll from the American opioid epidemic gets higher every day, and it’s best to be prepared for the worst if you or a loved one is regularly using heroine or other opioids. An overdose of heroin will lower both heart rate and breathing until the user is dead unless fast medical action is taken.
Both Narcan and Evzio are drugs approved by the U.S. FDA for the treatment of heroin overdoses until emergency medical help can arrive. If you or a loved one regularly uses heroin, it’s a good idea to make sure that a reliable friend or family regularly carries one of these treatment options and knows how to administer it.
Even if someone administers Narcan or Evzio, they should also call emergency medical personnel.
Cocaine overdoses can also kill a user very rapidly, so it’s important to act fast if you think you or a loved one has overdosed.
Once you have called 911, there are three things you can do while waiting for help to arrive:
Prescription drugs are different, so overdoses will look different depending on the drug. In an emergency, you should always dial 911 and seek medical help.
You can also call your local poison control center for more information on what to do during a prescription drug overdose in Bothell.
