We are proud to announce that Brian Smart, M.D. has been appointed as our new Washington Medical Director. Currently, we have three drug and alcohol rehabilitation locations in Washington. An inpatient facility in Edmonds, an outpatient facility in Bellevue, and our newest outpatient facility in the neighborhood of Northgate, in Seattle. Previously, Dr. Smart was both a Medical Director and staff psychiatrist at the Smoky Point Behavioral Health hospital in Marysville, Wa. Furthermore, he was the Associate Director at Eating Recovery Center of Washington, and an acting assistant professor, and staff psychiatrist at Harborview Medical Center, where he had teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents. Dr. Smart brings his profound knowledge and expertise in behavioral health treatment to our addiction detox and rehabilitation centers. His study of medication management protocols, as well as actively practicing and managing global clinical responsibilities is a grand addition to our expanding lines of treatment in Washington state.

Onward and Upward
Our approach to addiction is unique. Our inpatient 28-day alcohol and drug addiction recovery programs focus on detoxification using medication to reduce withdrawal symptoms, and rehabilitation by tackling existing co-occurring disorders. Most patients carry over to our outpatient care (Northpoint Seattle in Edmonds and Seattle), and alumni aftercare services, where networking and peer motivation have proven to be imperative for sustainable long-term recovery. Dr. Smart’s addition is a testament to our commitment to providing high-quality integrated health care to patients across the continuum of substance use and behavioral health treatment in the state of Washington.
